It would depend on the price of the vehicle, and the condition. If the price is right, I will buy anything!!!! I have purchased impounded vehicles, and had no problems with them. If the car is impounded because it was abandoned, it most likely has serious problems. If it was impounded because the owner was arrested, and it was not claimed due to the owner being in jail, it may be in good condition!!
Repo's usually have not had the best maintenance, but you can get a good deal if you know what to look for!!

If I could follow the paper trail, I would. There are a lot of New Orleans mud cars that were cleaned up and sent out. On the other hand, I know a lady who got a re-po that had $21,000 in it. The gov't tried to get it back but the judge judiciously pointed to the "as is" contract and she won. 'til IRS arrived..........
