The last 4 months my parents are getting divorced after 12 years & 3 kids (i am oldest) It started when my mum walked out for another man who had 2 kids of his own. My dad wasnt dealing with it at first i think he is now, but he wants to move 3 hrs away so we can be with family because were we live now we have no one. I live with my dad full time & my 2 brothers go to my mums 1 week then my dads.

How are some ways i can cheer my dad up?

And is it a good idea to go with him to be closer to family even if it means leaving friends & the life i have now?

sorry its so long.........plz help =]

I really commend your maturity in this matter.
First, remember that it's not your responsibility to to cheer your dad up. One of the hardest things about growing up is realizing that you can't always "fix" things, even though you want to and feel like you should. Your dad is going to have to work through a lot of issues before he's back to being himself. The fact that you're looking for some help in this situation shows that you are a very kind hearted person and your dad knows that. Let him know that you support him and want to help him through this.
As far as moving three hours away, that's a choice only you can make. It sounds like your dad could benefit from your presence.
Understand that he's going to display a lot of different emotions and what ever you do, try not to take it personally. His entire life has changed and he's gonna need a lot of understanding and patience.
You sound like a child that any parent would be proud of. I wish you the best and don't forget to take care of yourself. You're going through a lot of changes too.

Wow you sound very mature and like a very good daughter. I think it is great that your dad has you for support. I think the best way to cheer him up and to stay as respectful as you seem you are. Spend time with him ask him as much as possible, pick one day a week and tell him its your daughter and father day. Be patient with him as I am sure he is under a lot of pressure. I am sure your father is wanting to move for the best for the all of you.

You're so sweet - well, honey, you can help him by doing some of the chores at home. Help him organize the new place; make it a home - a sanctuary for him. Always greet him with a smile. Are you old enough to prepare dinner? Prepare something that he likes; if you don't know how, ask your grandparents or relatives. It takes time heal old wound. Just give him time.

just tell ur dad that maybe ur mom is not the luv of his life and hopefully he'll find somebody that knows how to treat and value him.tell him how much you luv him and thatt hes not alone. Some people are blinded by their desires and it appears thats the case of ur mother.desires last for a while but not for a life time.at the end shes the one thats goin to end up suffering.Remember true friends will be always there for u even when ur 3 hours away..lol..family is family and sometimes u need to take sacrafices.

Cheer your Dad simply by doing what you're told, not fighting about things. You can't heal the pain he feels about the divorce.

Your parents will choose whether you should move or not. Accept their choice peacefully.

i think all wedding ceremony presents are to be lower back to the giver if the marriage doesn't very last more effective than some months. What she did become fairly crappy, yet i doesn't project too a lot, Karma is a biatch too. My sister-in-regulation (my brother in regulation's spouse) talked my brother in regulation into refinancing HIS homestead. She took 0.5 the money they were given lower back and then left him. helpful! yet, they're lower back jointly now, so i do not comprehend.
