If you took zoloft without being depressed you essentially might get high off of it. Zoloft is a SSRI, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Thus you have selectively inhibited serotonin channels and have left more of this very enlightneing neuro hormone in the synapses of most of your brain for a longer period of time. You may feel a sense of euphoria that may come in waves, and may crash pretty hard following the drugs detoxification. Dont take any stimulants or MAOI (mono amine oxidase inhibitors) for it may increase the chance for toxicity. Other than that have fun, dont do it again, and dont screw with your serotonin levels.

Depending on whether you take it regularly or just once; the effects will be different.
If taken on occasion, this drug can arguably cause suicidal and/or homicidal behavior where otherwise it would not have occurred. It could stir up a depressive state that would otherwise not occur as well. The medicine effects the serotonin in your brain which effects the pleasure center, if you don't need this chemical to be balanced than it can "burn out" the receptors of this chemical through overload and cause long term damage.
However, if you are taking it regularly, and weren't depressed, it will effectively eventually 'level'.
You may notice for the first couple of days a state of mind "that all is well no matter what" (if you dont need it, you will get high) and then you will become stable after some time has passed as long as you continue the medication.
If you dont, the above could happen.
Hope that helps!

If you took one Zoloft w/out being depressed, nothing would happen.
If you took a bunch of Zoloft w/out being depressed, you could become very ill.
If you took a Zoloft a day w/out being depressed you could throw yourself into mania.

One zoloft won't have any negative effect.
If you're over age 18, taking one per day for a week probably wouldn't have a negative effect either.
