Does it matter if she was? If you really want to know, you should be able to trust her enough to ask her! She might have been, but girls tend to be more... uh... inhibited about masturbating.
(That brings to mind a comment my best friend has - "90% of guys are wankers, the 10% who say the don't are liars, and the remaining percentage never masturbate.")

Very possible. you should be glad. Studies show that women who masturbate are more responsive in bed and more in touch with their needs and desires.
