Out of curiosity, how long were you with your significant other before they proposed? And how did you meet?

We met while we were working at a restaurant. ( HoJo's in CA).
He was a cook and I was a waitress...we met on Apr 1st, he proposed in Aug. We got married 4 yrs later in Aug. We've been married 28 yrs.

I knew him a year (I was dating someone else seriously), then we dated two years, he proposed and we were married eight months later.
We met at church! He was visiting his brother, who was our priest. My dad was the deacon, and my parents invited him and his brother for lunch after church. My mom "dared" me to ask the dude out, so I did! We went to a movie that night. He was living in a city about an hour and a half away; moved to my city within the next year. However, in that time I moved almost five hours away to work. So we saw each other sometimes at weekends, then the next summer it got more serious. Here we are, now married over 17 years.

Met through a mutual friend (although they met on line). We were together 6 years before he proposed, although we started to really discuss marriage after 3 years.

We met on MySpace, and found out that we have a mutual friend!!! We have been together for 3 1/2 months, we got the rings, and now i'm just waitin. :)
