Cat viruses and dog viruses are "species specific" and not transferred from cat to dog. Nor from cat to human, nor from dog to human.

There are some viral and bacterial infections that can pass between humans and animal (zoonotic infections), but they are rare. There are not any known respiratory virus that pass between humans to animal, cats to dogs or vice-versa.
If your cat had a resp infection and then you got a cold-coinsidence, nothing more.
respiratory infections are very contagious between cats and are very easily spread.
Something to talk to your vet about!

The other poster is correct regarding colds, but especially dogs can have problems with skin just like a person, diabetes and nerve damage, heart and lung problems and digestive tract problems, etc.

Yes, ive seen dogs pass stuff to humans then the humans pass it back to the dog. IT just depends on whether the immune system will be able to stop the virus and if its an interspeciesvirus(can be passed between species)
