i love short stories about the south. older the better. a cousin to visit for the summer that didn't fit in. having to struggle to make ends meet. having to hug an ugly uncle. walking to school with a bucket (lunch). gravel roads. the smell of jasmine in the wind. be open minded. something will come to you.

I once lost my memory in a motorcycle accident. Still had all my skills ie could answer questions, but was convincinced I was a POW and would only tell the docs my name rank and serial number. When friends came to visit I could talk to them until I looked away. When I looked back it would be Oh Hi Mike when did you get here? This went on for a week. 30 years my childhood is still spotty and tends to come back in waves that can literally make me dizzy with info overflow. Every few years. Sure you could make a story from this

I don't know if balderarrow is serious, but your present situation, I think, would make a good story.
As for time periods, the one we live in is pretty interesting, to say the least.
If you need material, you need only take a look around you.
Try writing about real life - real people in real situations & how they deal with them. Just change the names & some of the details to protect the privacy of others.
This should make for a good short story.
Good luck to you.

the 80's were good...xcept nothing really happend..they had some cool sh!t though..& the 90's were pretty sweet 2!

if it has to be like "educational" than i'd say the 40's cause a lot of sh!t happend then.

the kind of stories i liek are romance with some twists. i also lke mystery and all that stuff

The best topic for u is abt your pet or on the thing you don't like bcoz u describe that thing in a very critical and analystic way.
GOOD LUCK!

I recently had to write a 100 word autobiography. It was interesting.

Perhaps the pre-French Revolution. Just try to glam it up a bit.
