I've been seeing this guy for just over a month. We originally hit it off really well & it moved really fast. He put the brakes on it not too long after thanksgiving, but we still see each other at least once a week & agree that we both feel the same as when we first met. He says he's not ready to be in a serious relationship but isnt seeing anyone else & when I'm with him he does really cute "relationship" stuff and when he plays guitar (totally improvised mind you) for me he sings about first meetings and feelings of excitment & good emotions. Tonite's song was something about "being sad when you walked away but knowing that I would see you again." Just the way he acts around me & holds me etc speaks so much louder to me than his words of "no real relationship". Ive said I'd like more but am not going to push it, he knows how I feel. I'm convinced that he's just scared about the 7 year age difference (hes older) & the instability of the future. Do you think I'm right? Opinions? Help!

I think you may be right... actions DO speak louder then words. Take what he says at face value though - don't read into it too much. If six months pass and he's still not interested in a relationship - you may need to move on.

Yes they do. I would suggest you weigh things out. I mean if you are looking to define the relationship further then you need answers.
You may be willing to wait things out with this guy now, but if you are looking for more then you may have to push. I mean you could be 10 years down the road in this same place with the same man. Are you willing to do that?
If you are happy now, then wait it out. Just don't wait too long.
Age difference is not really a issue unless you are under age.
Good luck. Go with your gut.

It sounds really strange to me...sounds like he is playing on your emotions to keep you interested but he doesn't want the "burden" of a serious relationship. Guys can be pretty manipulative especially if their goal is to get down your pants. Actions speak louder than words but you have to take into account if the actions are sincere...

Good luck to you...

Yes I think he does really like you...and I think he is just scarred because of the age difference.
If you are like 13...14..15..16...years old and he is 7 yeasr older...you need to get away from him.
If you are an adult you don't.
If you are an adult...being 19 or older..it is totally fine if he is older....my boyfriend is 6 year older than me and Im 19.

Actions speak louder. He cares. But he's laying the cards on the table. He doesn't want to feel tied down, so don't give yourself the illusion that he does and you wont get hurt.

If he's 7 years older than you I don't think he's scared of the future with you. He's probably more concerned about singing his way into your pants. That is the straight up truth, take it or leave it.

Definitely , especially in dating. That is the primary dating mantra. Don't focus on what you girl or guy says. See if it relates to the action and if he/she follows up. Never count on the words.

It really sounds like he's playing with your emotions. I wouldn't put any more emotional stake in this. Just let things fall where they may.

sometimes, there are things in life that need to be proven for it to be fully heard and understood with belief.
words can be either the truth or lies....but proving is seeing, we prove by actions.
