Yes, I know that answer is annoying, but so is the question!

OpenOffice (free) might be the best solution in your "paying" dilemma...

Try Openoffice.org for a nice and easy system that truly mimics Microsoft Office. To get it for free you have to go through a program like Limewire and its not going to be quite legal.

There is a great program you can download free for spelling and grammer checking. It is called WordWeb, you can download it from http://wordweb.info/free/

Open Office is not only free, it is better and less problematic than Micro$oft Office.
