i'm a hygienist and it's usually from stain or tartar...could be coffee, tea, soda, red wine, TOBACCO...some people just have darker enamel..but if it's that bad they are probably just dirty :)

smoking, drinking coffee or tea, or not brushing which will cause them to turn yellow. Of course not brushing them too will cause them to turn yellow and/or black which probably means they are rotting away.

it's from not brushing your teeth enough. it's plaque buildup that just stains your teeth because it's there for too long.
