I long ago lost my true hair color but when the weather is nice and the sun is shining on me, I'm usually highlighted and blonde (by nature and salon).
In the winter I like to tone it down and go for a light brown.
Does anybody else do this or am I trying too hard?

Many women tend to go darker during the cooler months. Less time is spent outside thus decreasing the chances for those natural highlights! It's much easier to maintain a natural look to go darker during the off months!!!

My hair stays the same year round.I have only done very light highlights once.Do whatever you like doing though I'd suggest.You have more guts then I do lol.

If anything, I change it against the season.
I won't dye it green or red near xmas and normally I dye it lighter in the winter and darker in the summer.

It's not that you are trying hard, it's the way you like it. I don't change my hair color depending on the season. I do it when my mood demands it.

i change mine every half a year and do almost exactly the same thing i think its great and it sort of can be adapted to your mood, just dont go overboard like my friend who changes it once a month!
