Does it work? I've been having some back and neck pain, and someone suggested I go see one, but I am not sure if it would help. Any opinions would be helpful!

Yes.

It's not a question of whether or not it works for me. It's a question of whether or not it will work for you. That's the whole point, any drug, any supplement, any type of med and any type of treatment or management tool either will or will not work for any given person. You can only tell if something will work for you if you try it.

So, ask your friends, neighbours, or family members if any of them see a chiro. If so, get names and contact info.

Go through all of your history and problems, just as you would with any MD. In fact, for the first 2 years of chiropractic college, the students have the same curriculum as in medical school. Do you have a diagnosis for your back and neck problems? If so, tell them about it. If you've ever had an x-rays, try to take them with you. If you haven't, or haven't had them recently, tell your chiro. Any structural problems will affect the way that you will be treated, so it's important that this be made known.

Tell the chiro what you are looking for and ask if it's realistic. And if you decide to give it a try, give it a reasonable one - 6 - 8 weeks, for example.

I suffered from lower back and neck pain for years in my "tweens". I tried A LOT of things, hot tubs and hot showers provide limited relief. I also tried buying a bed designed to help with the pain, and it did work for some time, although it was expensive. The root of my pain was coming from a spinal misalignment. I finally took advice from good friends to see a chiro. Best thing I ever did. Don't believe all the negative things about chiro's man...Initially there is usually a lot of treatment and can be expensive if you're not covered, but it's soooo worth it. I only have to see mine 4 times a year, it costs me about 100 bucks a year. Make sure you talk to doctors first, a referral may help cut down costs and will definity diagnose the cause of the pain, this is the most important thing. Also make sure oyu talk more with people who see one regularly to help you find a good one, I'm sure they'll have lots of good to say about chiropractors as well. oh yeah, massage therapy is also a great way to alleviate pain as well and they usually work in conjunction with chiros so can help find out the cause of the pain.

ABSOLUTELY.... there are things that they adjust in your spine to fix you... an orthopaedist, rheumatologist cant do this but the chiro can!

You want a Chiropractic Orthopedist or Orthopedic Chiropractor. A simple chiropractor wont have the same skill and you will be selling yourself short.

Yes it does help, during soccer i popped a few vertebre out of place causing nerves to get pinched and i saw my chiropractor a few times to get adjusted. The first few times you go, after they readjust you, your body will naturally pull the vertebre out of place, but if you go for like 2 weeks going like every 3rd day, your body will eventually adapt to the correct alignment of your spine.

Absolutely! If you find a good one, stay with him! Try to get a referral for someone in your area. Always good to go by word of mouth. Mine has done wonders for me!
