I think the promotion is over. It was for the anniversary of Yahoo! Answers. I got my hat for being at level 4 at the time.

No, it's not true that you receive a mug when you reach level 5. Yahoo would by no means give you a free mug just for joining one of their free services. If the service was charged, then probably it would make sense to give you a free mug for reaching a certain level. In this case for every mug Yahoo gave its users it would lose money. There's no possible way for them to make money if they gave out 1 million mug to all the users of Yahoo Answers. Please remember, Yahoo is a business and is here to earn money, not to lose money.

No, that was a one time thing. They only offered gifts through... I think it was the middle of December last year.

Congrats on level 5 when you get there, though!

go to the dollar store you can get one for a buck. It takes a lot less time then getting to level five...LOL
