There may also be warranty issues. Typically, if you buy a "US" model instead of a "grey market" model, you can return it directly to any authorized repair facility. See the link below for a very detailed explanation. (There is nothing for sale on the page I am referencing.)

No difference in the camera, but BIG difference in the warranty!
If you live in the US, buy a US camera. Digital SLRs can't be repaired just anywhere, and NikonUSA will not work on a grey market camera, period.

I don't believe B & H Photo even sells a grey digital SLR here in US.

There's no diference. At most it might have a different default language, but you can change it to english.
