I have just started using the about face mineral make-up from Arbonne. I really like it because my whole life my make-up has always looked to dark or too light. so I tend to not wear any until I tried the mineral make-up It is reflective mineral pigments which allow you to go up or down 2 shades without looking hideous. and what makes Arbonne different it is pH correct which keeps you from getting that odd color to your face by mid afternoon. I just love it. I am also a consultant. and I give great discounts so go check out my website at www.thewayback.myarbonne.com and email me with your skin type and I can send you a free sample of our phenomenal skin care.

Have you tried MAC Cosmetics? They have so many hues of colors and Im sure you will find a perfect one for you. I personally use Mac Studio Tech because it gives you good coverage if you have any skin imperfections such as dark spots. If you will spend or planning to spend $40, you can have a make over, they will wave the $40 fee if you spend that much on their product. I go there for special occassions such as wedding, I make appointment and spend the $0 to items I may be low on such as lipstick or foundations. Mac Studio Tech foundation cost $26.50 but it will last you for 3 months if use everyday.

I believe that Mary Kay, especially in the last 5 years since adding makeup artist to the stars, ROBERT JONES to the Mary Kay team...has really "kicked it up a notch" in providing wonderful skin care and makeup for beige, bronze and darker skinned women.

The foundations were re-formulated and the colors are a wonderful match that provide great coverage while still feeling very sheer. Go to www.MaryKay.com/tbond61 and you can do a virtual "makeover" playing around with different colors and such on a model who most resembles your skin and hair color.

I use all kinds. I test it in the store, or I observe what other females my complexion wear. Whether it be on the street or in a magazine. Whatever color I feel will go best with my complexion, I wear.
For instance, I am a milk chocolate complexion, I wear bronze, gold, and light pink colors. Nothing too dark like wine, or red.
You should go to a makeup counter and try on different brands and colors. Whatever you feel makes you look beautiful, then go for it.

I think it's a matter of trial & error. Thankfully most cosmetics (dept store brands and drugstore brands) can be returned with a receipt if you are unhappy with the result. Don't be afraid to buy and try AND return if you find the product doesn't work for you.

Also, you can go into dept store counters and let them know you're in the market for a foundation. Many will test the colors on you and apply it for your approval. Don't feel pressured to buy if you're not happy with it. Don't be afraid to return it if you change your mind. Sometimes color can change after wearing it for a while. Good luck!

some of the best make up products in my opinion are mary kay for african american as well as other women of color if you want a natural not made up look. if you want a more thicker made up look go for fashion fair, both are high end products and cost a little more, I have also heard good things about mac products. on the cheaper end avon makes good foundation products as well.

Go inside Dillards, to the cosemetolgy section and go to the Fashion for booth. Its make-up made especially for people of color. It leaves your face natural looking, and its glowing. It doesnt leave your face looking like and people actually knowing you got on make up. Whenever it gets to tht point and i'm talking about the foundation, its not appealing and is not the right shade.

Definitly low key, neutral shades just to enhance the eyes and highlighter along the apples and cheekbone - so hot! with lots of lengthening mascara and juicy glossy lips
