Music is as powerful as the human spirit?

why does music have the power to twist around you gut and everything about who you are... how does it have that power...

I don't see a contest ; music is a form of human spirit.

I think that God created the universe with music and it is something very powerful. For example when soft, positive sounding music is played for plants they tend to grow, but when harsh, negative sounding music is played for those same plants they wither and die. Music has a similar affect on us making us feel a certain way when we listen to it.

It has that power because the people who make the songs pour their emotions into it. Thats why music by crappy sex symbol idiots has no substance, because neither do they. Real music written by real people who express their emotions through the music has a greater effect when others listen to it because it was created with emotion.

I don't know. I just know it's odd like that. Like with music in foreign languages: I tend to like those that, when translated, have actually meant something in my life. Otherwise it just sounds like raucous noise. Music seems to be a type of language that knows no boundaries, so maybe it is like the tongue everyone spoke before the Tower of Babel (if you believe in that myth).

music takes control of my mood. something joyful, metallic, or something that flows for 5 minutes. its how you can allow a rhythm to control you and make you move.
