I have wanted to do this as well... the problem is you can not get anything of a DVD CD because it's encrypted if they allow you to get the Audio of the DVD then some1 figure out how to get the VIDEO as well ... there was a program called DVD Shrink from what I know i only heard of it but can't find it anywhere on the net.

Get yourself the free program called "Audacity". It has a selectable menu to record from various sources, one of which is called "What U Hear". You can start up Audacity, start playing your DVD, and when the sound comes up you just push the record button in Audacity's tool bar. Click stop when you've finished and you'll then be able to save the sound as a file on your pc. Below is the link for Audacity, and on the same page is also a download for the "LAME MP3 Encoder"...you'll want that installed if you want to export the sound as an .mp3. Good luck.
