Matthew 5:32 "But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

This sounds pretty straightforward, doesn't it?

But then again, Christians are all about condemning others before looking at themselves.

Well, if the other half is abusive an outright dangerous to the spouse, yes. If the other is an out of control meth addict or an alcoholic abuser or anything like these two examples then of course, get away and get them out of your life. God doesn't call us to be subjected or oppressed, or be a martyr for sin. If the other half is not hateful or abusive but treats you with respect and kindness even if they may not agree with your belief in God, and as long as there is a hope that the love can grow or be mended there is no reason to divorce. Get marital counseling first before making any decisions and pray.

If you're Cathollic, adultery is not grounds for divorce. You must contact a priest and get help to start the annullment process which is meant to determine if the marriage sacrament is valid or not.

Let's see what the Bible says:

1Cr 7:10 ¶ And unto the married I command, [yet] not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from [her] husband:
11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to [her] husband: and let not the husband put away [his] wife.
12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such [cases]: but God hath called us to peace.
