there is no difference aside from the fact that brand name medications are typically more expensive. the compounds which make up both types, and the way that they work for any given person, are exactly the same

Actually there are differences in the two types of drugs. Besides cost, many generic drugs use different complimentary compounds in their drugs. The base molecular structures are the same, which is why they classified as the "same drug". The effects are more often than not the same, but some people may have different side-effects or report a different effect.

It really differs from patient to patient, so ask your doctor or NP about. They can prescribe a drug with "no substitutions" so you can get the trade name drug.

No, both compounds are the same. The only real difference is that the brand name is heavily advertised and the generic comes in plain packaging. I've been taking generic psychotropics for years and have found them to be just as effective.

yes there is alot of differences between a generic medication and a brand one.

Though the compound is same but they are not in same standard when standardlising makes thing differrent.

Brand one is tested and proved practically. Generic one tries to make as same as possible. Sometimes the efficacy is almost equal but we should choose it carefully when you got serious problem.
