for an athlete or person that follows a healthy diet it's hard to drink too much water. other variables like body size, relative humidity, type of activities, etc. are all factors in how much a person needs daily. a 200 lb person obviously needs more water than a 100 lb person. and a person who does office work that doesn't exercise doesn't need as much as another officer worker of the same size that plays basketball 4x a week, it's common sense..

i'm 240 lbs sometimes I drink up to 2-2.5 gals a day in the summertime if I'm outside a lot. in the winter time maybe only a gallon a day.

the key is to learn how much water "you" need. there are obviously the bare minimum amount of 8 glasses which isn't much. when you feel thirsty the body is already dehydrated the key is to not get like that.

you could potentially kill yourself if you dont maintain an electrolyte balance, drink some gateroaide every now and then with your water so you dont drown the cells in your body. I forget what the process is called but if there is a concentration of water outside the cell it will move down its concentration gradient into the cell expanding it to the point where the cell membrane ruptures. so yeah get salt in your system and 5 bottles isnt too much but you probably dont need anywhere near as much water unless you do a lot of physical work outside. tone down a little and drink gatoraide after a few bottles of water

Well, it's recommended to have 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day. So, 64 ounces of water a day. Do you need to do that every day? No. But to answer your question, too much water IS bad for you. If you're drinking more than 64oz a day there's probably an issue anyhow.

No. Water cleans out your system and keeps you hydrated. As long as you're not drinking it until you give yourself a stomache ache you're fine. Water is very good for you for so many reasons.

The only con of too much water is that you'll probably urinate more than a regular person. Other than that, you're practically flushing out the bad stuff out of your body.

If you drown yourself in it and chug it like there's no tomorrow, yeah it's bad.
