What are anchor babies and why do people want to abort them?

some people can't afford an actual "anchor" so they tie a rope around a baby and throw it over board...
Mostly happens with Mexicans

If an illegal alien purposefully has children in the US in order to gain residence rights later, that is an anchor baby. Anyone born in the United States, regardless of their parent's status, is automatically a U.S. Citizen (i.e. a natural born citizen). There are some exceptions, but for the most part any child born in the US is a US citizen.
So, any child born to an illegal alien is a citizen of the United States. This creates a real predicament, because if you expel the illegal alien, you are as a result expelling their child, who is a US Citizen.

I am not surprised at this question coming from a person who thinks Secretary Rice is a "sell out", It is that mentality that keeps black people from reaching their potential, A black woman as Secretary of State and you cant be happy?..wow...Anyway, Your question is very biased when you try to force people into a belief that people on welfare are there for "3 generations", as a result of your bias your question has lost a notable amount of credibility. that having been said, I would not want a person who's sole intention was to use her child as a tool for her own gain(much like the woman who had the anchor baby does). It is a completely irresponsible act of a mother to do such a thing. It is selfish and devious.

Anchor babies are babies that are born in this country to illegal immigrant parents for the sole reason of keeping the illegal parents in this country. The baby is, by current law, a US citizen, so the parents have to stay in the country to raise it.
Many illegal immigrant women get pregnant and come to this country to have their baby so they will be able to have all the access to government supplemental programs and the rights of citizen because their baby is a US citizen.
Something needs to change. . .

This is a simple question. People who answered this wrongly are obviously dumb@$$3$. Anchor babies are the children of immigrants. For example, when a Mexican crosses the border and gets pregrant or is already pregnant and gives birth to a baby, that baby is an anchor child.
