He'll make the Chase this season. He has the same team he had last season. The reason why he missed the chase back in 2005 is because he didn't have his old team. He and Tony Eury Jr weren't getting along at the end of the 2004 season so DEI switched Jr's team and Michael Waltrip's teams. Junior went through two other crew chiefs before Tony Eury Jr came back.

As long as Junior doesn't make any rookie mistakes on the track and as long as other drivers don't act like boneheads and make idiotic mistakes and take out innocent drivers then Junior will make it.

Also look out for Martin Truex Jr to make the Chase this year as well. Martin's team came alive at the end of last season and they will be a threat for the championship as well.

ROFLMAO - Hey AE, before you answer a post here do yourself a favor and watch a race or 2.

Tony Stewart is a great driver - no doubt about it. However, to say he's the real deal and Jr has been handed everything is a little absurd. How did Tony do in the Chase last year? You can hate any driver you want, but to say that the driver that finished 5th in the chase is unable to win is idiotic.

Now to the question - Jr should be able to make the chase this year without too much difficulty. As long as he can avoid costly mistakes and stay off the DNF list he'll be in the chast this year.

I think he will make it no question about it. I feel like he would have won the cup if the two wrecks during the Chase in '06 didn't hurt him as much as they did. He had to work his way up, and he was all the way to second until the jackass Brian Vickers wrecked out Jimmie and in turn Jimmie took out Dale Jr. That was a low blow and a race that will always live on in my mind.

Not if he drives like he did the last two months of the season. The problem with Jr is he's inconsistant throughout the season. He cant hold on long.

he'll make the chase fairly easily. They are expanding the field and if you look at it, there is going to be an open spot compared to the last several years....Mark martin retiring....so he should be in. 2005 was just a rough year for him. He tried a new crew chief and it just didn't work out for him. he'll be in the chase for the next several years. If you get in the chase anything can happen so you never know.

He will compete this year because he still is under contract as far as next year probably not , he will probably end up leaving DEI.

He better make it for pete sakes! He has been given every oppertunity one could ask for! How much easier does it get when your daddy got you where you are today. Yet you still can barely win a race... Not a Tony fan either but this guy is the real deal. Root for someone with real character not a shadow in there daddys image.
