Are you sure he's turning one year old and not one month old?

I wouldn't worry too much myself, because my friends baby is 1 as well and he only has 2 teeth, whereas my daughter has nearly all of them and she is 1 and a half. My nephew doesn't have alot of teeth either and he is the same age as my daughter. I think it depends on the individual baby, but if you don't see any signs of teeth soon, maybe just check with the Doctor next time they go in for a needle or whenever just to make sure all is well. I'm sure it will all be fine. I have read that some kids develop teeth earlier than others and it doesn't mean that they aren't smart or late developers or anything, it is just teeth. Look out for the signs of teething, and if your son has at least been doing that, then definately everything should be fine, just taking their time.
Hope this helps you.

My best friends daughter didn't get her first tooth in until she was 14 months old. Don't worry my pediatrician actually told me the longer they wait until the first tooth comes in the more healthy it will be. My son is a year old this month and he has 8 teeth but suprisingly the front bottom ones are a little crooked. Don't worry about it, it doesnt mean hes shower or anything it just means his teeth will be healthier. If you are concerned about it though talk to his doctor about it. Good luck!

There is not one certain age that every baby will get teeth.
I would say if your son is just getting ready to turn 1, and has no teeth, he should be fine.
You might want to say something to the pediatrician when you see him next, just to ease your mind.

I would ask the doctor about it just to ease your mind. But my kids got their teeth late too. it's better for them to get their teeth late rather than early. As long as they are in the gums, they are protected. As soon as they erupt, they are subject to decay ... not to mention the big advantages to breastfeeding mothers. :) The only disadvantage for the child is that they can't get done with braces as early if they need them.

No source just experiece with my friends and family's children. This is common! All babies teeth come in at different times. If it will ease your discomfort I might would bring it up, but keep your head up its normal! :)

I'd get to a pediatric dentist soon. It is a bit late not to have any teeth showing.

DON'T WORRY EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT, HE'LL GROW
TEETH WHEN IT IS READY TO COME OUT. HE IS JUST A
LATE COMER. MY FIRST DAUGHTER WAS THE SAME WAY
AND NOW, SHE HAS BEAUTIFUL TEETH, NO CAVITIES AND SHE IS 22 YEARS OLD. JUST REMEMBER AS SOON AS THEY COME OUT START TAKING CARE OF THEM, AND NO
SWEET. IF YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE YOUR CHILD SWEETS
THEN MAKE SURE HE BRUSHES AFTER EACH TREAT. AND
BRUSH AFTER EACH MEAL. I ALWAYS TELL THE KIDS, DON'T WORRY IT IS NOT GOING TO HURT YOU TO BRUSH
AFTER EACH MEAL. SO DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY!!
