well there is this girl named lindsey and we were talking about God and things like that and i told her that i was Catholic. she asked me WHY I WAS CATHOLIC!!! she said that because we pray the Rosary and we look to Saints for help and things like that that we worship more than one God. [no offense to those that do pray to more than one God, but that is not the Catholic faith.] also, this guy colten said that Roman Catholics are stupid because Romans are the ones who killed Jesus!! who says things like that? they're Christians too! ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD JUST GET ALONG AND SHOULD NOT DISCRIMINATE EACH OTHER BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE THE SAME MAIN FAITH AND WE WORSHIP THE SAME GOD!!! i'm sorry if i hurt any ones feelings or offended anyone but their words really hurt me.

I am glad I converted to Catholicism.

I am always seeking knowledge.

I found this info online as 'additional readings" :

Protestants being thus impious enough to make liars of Jesus Christ, of the Holy Ghost, and of the Apostles, need we wonder if they continually slander Catholics, telling and believing worse absurdities about them than the heathens did? What is more absurd than to preach that Catholics worship stocks and stones for gods; set up pictures of Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and other saints, to pray to them, and put their confidence in them; that they adore a god of bread and wine; that their sins are forgiven by the priest, without repentance and amendment of life; that the pope or any other person can give leave to commit sin, or that for a sum of money the forgiveness of sins can be obtained ? To these and similar absurdities and slanders, we simply answer: "Cursed is he who believes in such absurdities and falsehoods, with which Protestants impiously charge the children of the Catholic Church. All those grievous transgressions are another source of their reprobation."

"But what faith can we learn from these false teachers when, in consequence of separating from the Church, they have no rule of faith? ... How often Calvin changed his opinions! And, during his life, Luther was constantly contradicting himself: on the single article of the Eucharist, he fell into thirty-three contradictions! A single contradiction is enough to show that they did not have the Spirit of God. "He cannot deny Himself" (II Timothy 2:13). In a word, take away the authority of the Church, and neither Divine Revelation nor natural reason itself is of any use, for each of them may be interpreted by every individual according to his own caprice ... Do they not see that from this accursed liberty of conscience has arisen the immense variety of heretical and atheistic sects? ... I repeat: if you take away obedience to the Church, there is no error which will not be embraced.

You are right when you say that people should not treat you like that. They just do not understand how to lovingly express the true Christian faith.

For starters, Are we called to pray to the saints? If so, there should be scripture in the Bible to support such an act and to tell you the truth....There isn't one. So that practice should either be stopped by the Roman Catholic Church or you should investigate it for yourself and then make a decision on whether you want to continue doing things that are unbiblical. Jesus said that no man comes to the father but by me....Not by the Saints or a saint....but by HIM. No one esle.

Now I have given you truth and it is up to you to do what you want with it.

Hey.....You are not stupid, but you owe it to yourself to investigate this topic fully.

Your posted question is not a question at all. It's a statement concerning your hurt feelings from people on the forum that you find hurtful. So you can do one of two things: 1) if you're too thin skinned for the forum, stop coming here because nothing will change, or 2) tough-in up and accept the forum for what it is -- not much.

I truly understand your position. I also had found myself defending the church rituals. You shouldn't feel hurt by people statements, but investigate for yourself of these accusations. This is what I done when I face with the same situation. I sat down with some priests and I address my concern regarding the church practice.

What I have learned is that priests do not totally accept what they were educate in the seminary. This have alerted me deeply, and so I turn my thoughts to God and the truth was reveal to me.

Please understand this....

Many people disagree with the theology of the Catholic church, because of the use of saints. Some people see this as idolatry, which I'm sure is a familiar term for you.

I also agree with that way of thinking. (I am Christian, by the way).

But to really understand this you need to know something; we are human beings, inferior to angels. Now, what are Saints? They were humans who died. I'm not debating if they were good or not, all I'm saying is that they, at some point were humans.

Now, in the Bible, whenever humans tried to worship Angels, they were reprimended by the Angels themselves.

""At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."" Revelation 19:10

Why? because nobody deserves your worship other than God. Not even Angels!

"You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me" Exodus 20:5

One more thing, nevermind people using the Romans in order to batter your faith.

I only have 2 problems with Catholicism: the belief in transubstantiation, and those who pray to mary. Other than that, yall are cool in my book.

Listen. God is imaginary....as imaginary as santa clause. Don't waste your time worrying yourself silly about a make-believe story.

God is totally imaginary and I can provide an overwhelming amount of evidence.

Just go to: www.godisimaginary.com and spend a little time....you'll see.

Such is life. You know the truth about what you believe, so don't be bothered by the ignorant comments of the closed-minded fools.

I'm Muslim - I've heard plenty of lies about what "I" believe from people who think they know.
