Give mom a hug with all the family around her and let her know you all love her.. and sit her down.. and each of you talk to her about how her condition is affecting all her loved ones. then if she continues to threaten suicide have her commited in a mental health facility. if you are all she has left in her life then after being assessed by a professional she can only do what the doctor prescribes for her and with alot of support from your sisters and yourself she will come around .. I did it with my mom and at first it was HELL but time has helped heal us.. love is key. and patience.

I have a mother in law just like your mother and she has bipolar. She has done some very mean things to myself and my husband. My advice is tell her that she needs to get help and until she will do that she will not be seeing you or her grandchildren. I know it may be hard but it is for the safety of you children. My husband and myself ended up taking our son and moving over 3 hours away from his mother. I couldn't deal with it and neither could he.
Good Luck!

All I can say is Join the Party!
My mother is the same way!
When I was a teenage I am not ashamed to admit it that I use to slip her Welbutrin in her pop! I did this on a regular basis, it made my life easier. She is one of those people who has to make everyone upset because she is not happy!

Do a family intervention and have everyone participate. Tell her about all of the behavior problems you've all observed. Be brutallyfrank. Set up an appointment with a psychiatrist after that.

Your mother's present mental state is making her unable to see her problem. You will not be able to reason with her, she needs to be hospitalized. I would suggest that you go see an attorney that deals with these type of problems and see what you can do about getting your mother committed to a hospital so that she can be treated.

Your mother needs a mental health intervention where concerned family members meet to explain how they feel about her, how important she is to them, and how important it is for her to seek help with dealing with her conflicts. You say that she has Bipolar but you didn't mention which subtype it is or if it is primarily unipolar anf which pole dominates. Further, has this been diagnosed by a clinician, and have you spoken to that person regarding your concern for your mother? Clearly, though, your mother needs help, for herself and for the extended family.

IF SHE HAS THREATENED TO KILL HERSELF,HER ADULT CHILDREN CAN HAVE HER COMMITTED TO A HOSPITAL,THAT WILL TREAT HER AGAINST HER WILL.
I HAD MY EX HUSBAND COMMITED FOR THIS REASON,
BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT THEY CAN ONLY KEEP THEM SO LONG,AND IF THE PERSON IS NOT WILLING TO CHANGE,YOU ARE FIGHTING A LOSING BATTLE..
EITHER WAY GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

Trick her into going to an insane asylum there they will treat her. And get her back into her home if she'll take the medications.
