Drink at least 64 oz of water a day. Cut out salt (water weight is easy to lose). Do not eat anything within two hours of going to sleep. Portion control...meat at a minimum, more green veggies, less starches. You should eat meat the size of a deck of cards at each meal, no more or less than that. Walk at least 30 minutes a day. Get your heart rate up at least thirty minutes a day. Use a sugar substitute instead of real sugar, if you are overweight you hold on to sugars much longer than someone of average wight. That is why it is harder to lose weight if you eat sugar. Don't drink sodas, even diet sodas. Stop alcohol consumption for at least two weeks if not longer.

It would take a little over two weeks, because you're not supposed to lose more than 2lbs a week. You can jog-uphill and down. Do some strength training. Maybe you should also get a personal trainer.

At a normal, healthy rate it should take you 2-3 weeks to loose 5lbs. If what you're looking for is to gain muscle, just remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so you may actually gain weight instead of loosing it.

With most diets you will lose close to that in water weight in the first week. It is safest to continue losing weight at 2lbs per week, you will be more likely to keep it off because you learn new behaviors that encourage weight loss.

Hello Baseballc,

Drink lots of water. If you drink at less 64oz of water a day you will see a difference in your weight. I speak from experience. Drink 8-8oz glass a day and walk, however; the more water you can get in the better and the fast the weight loss will be. Good Luck
