Eze 1:5 Also out of the midst thereof [came] the likeness of four living creatures. And this [was] their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. 6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. 7 And their feet [were] straight feet; and the sole of their feet [was] like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
8 And [they had] the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
9 Their wings [were] joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. 11 Thus [were] their faces: and their wings [were] stretched upward; two [wings] of every one [were] joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; [and] they turned not when they went.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance [was] like burning coals of fire, [and] like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

They are much like people, individuals. However, most ARE humble. Beside Gabriel (who is NEVER named as an Archangel) and Michael (who IS THE Archangel) their names are usually not mentioned in the Bible. When asked their name, they usually say, "I am just a messenger, it is my master who is important." By the way, the word Angel, means Messenger.
We know they are stronger than humans and swift. One killed 185,000 soldiers in one night, another in the Book of Daniel actually travelled through Time when the Angel of Israel (Michael) was standing against (fighting with) the Angel of Greece (who during the writing of the Book of Daniel would not be a country for 200 more years). So we see they are supernaturally strong and have powers.

According to Islamic belief, angels are beings made from light, just as we humans are created from dust. They do whatever God commands them to do, and they do not have free will. They are not capable of disobedience and they have no desires or needs.
Human souls are said to be very similar to angels, but when our souls are joined with our bodies, there is a conflict in us between obedience to God and our body's desires, and needs.
Angels, like arch-angel Gabrial, bring Gods messages to His prophets. Other angels worship God or carry out other duties assigned to them.
It is a misconception that Satan was an angel. Satan was in fact a third kind of creature known as Jinn, known as deamons in Christianity. Jinn are made form fire, and are very different from angels. Satan used to worship God so much that God elevated him to the company of the angels. When God asked him to bow to Adam along with other angels, that was a test to see if Satan would swallow his pride and obey God. He obviously failed that test. He thought that his worship had earned him a higher position than Man.

After my friend passed away, I named my oldest son after him. One night shortly after my son was born, I was sleeping with my new baby in the crook of my arm. I woke up feeling a cold air around me, and I looked up and saw a tall man figure, he said "hey, it's o.k... I don't have much time, I just wanted to see the baby who has my name.." it still brings tears to my eyes when I talk about it. But I never used to believe that kind of thing happend until it happend to me. He was tall, cold, happy, loving.. and kind. And seemed in a hurry. I hope you get good answers.
