You say several different races. Yet all the illegals in the USA have brown skin. There only 2 main cultures in Mexico. One is the Mexican culture which comes from the Mexican Indians. The other is the spanish culture.I am Azteca therefore I call myself Mexican-American. Many Mexican Indians were living in Mexico way before the spaniards came over. Some of the Indians in present day Mexico at one time lived in parts of North America.
I hate the present day spanish blood in Mexico. The same spanish blood that are the wealthy white people in Mexico. They are not taking care of their poverty in Mexico. That is the reason we have nothing but brown skin illegals in the USA.

If you ask that type of question and are Mexican than how about if I ask you to answer that. Why do you call yourself Mexican. And as far as I know Americans are populating both north and south continents.
I know a lady who was born in Guelatao, Oaxaca in the same house where Benito Juarez lived as a boy. She tried to obtain a Mexican passport and the lady in charge of the SRE would not accept her as a Mexican. If the Zapotecans are not Mexicans than who is? And if she is not an American, who is? And I'm sure you consider yourself American also. If not... ni modos.

I wondered about that. The Mexican descent Americans I know well all consider themselves American, of Mexican descent. But on this board I have often seen children born here of illegal immigrants say they are US Citizens but their 'real' country is Mexico. Doesn't really make them more popular here to say that, actually.

No, they dont say they are Half Mexican, they are Mexican-American, just like the balck people, they keep on saying they are African-American and they were brought here a long time ago. It all depends where your mother and father are from. If you are 2 generation you are American.

All people who were born in the US identify with their past generation's nations. People born in the US rarely call themselves just Americans. Most people call themselves Italian-Americans, IrishAmericans etc.

I honestly dont know why they do that, but I agree with you. "Mexican" is simply relating to the country, not an actual ethnic group.
