I have often tried by counting the seconds they last. Is that a propper method for measuring a fart, or does anyone know of any other way?

maybe you could use a funnel and tie a balloon onto it, and see how big you can blow the balloon up
then you could also have helium balloons by, and inhale one in front of your friends and talk all funny, then you tell him yo do it, but instead of helium you hand him the fart filled balloon, that would be hysterical

Was this worth the 5 points? Anyway Mythbusters did something about measuring farts. Maybe you can catch a repeat on the Discovery Channel.

I always thought a good fart isn't measured by its length but it needs a deep low frequency with some power behind it , now thats a good rip, but nothing wet ...ew

Well it is a gas so I suppose it is measured the same way any gas is. I suspect in order to get an official way to measure it would be to contact your local frat house, I am sure they have worked it all out.

If the person sitting next to you in the car kinda wrinkles his nose up and sniffs around a bit....it's not a fart...just a fizzle.
If the person sitting next to you in the car looks at you strange, and slides over towards the window...it's your basic fart.
If everybody in the car crack their windows, it's a good fart.
If everybody in the car immediately opens their windows just as fast as they can, stick their heads out the window, and gulp in air...it's a FART!

i know someone that puts their farts in a bottle and from there you most likely can measure them. i don't know anyone who has measured a fart but tell me if you do-i am really interseted

1. the length of fart
2. degree of odor
3. loudness of fart

try putting a lighter by your dirt button and see how big the explosion is. i think ill create a flame baby right now. *fart*
