Don't do anything more to it.
The color you just put in should fade pretty soon.
Let it go at least 2 weeks and if you are still not happy then just buy a lighter color and color on top of what you already have.
DO NOT BLEACH
Wait AT LEAST 10 days before applying any more color

Hello Lindsay,
What happened to your hair is very common. Because your hair was blond, it tends to pull the colors that make up the color you applied. The dark golden brown color has a red base, this is why your hair has a red tone.
A few suggestions:
If you can afford it, visit a salon and have them "color correct" your hair. Show them the color you want to be and they will try to get you there.
If you plan to do this on your own, wash your hair will a harsh shampoo or dish soap. This will take out a little bit of this color. Then re-color with a box color that is brown with little or no red tone. AND condition, condition, condition! All this processing will dry out your tresses.
Also, don't worry if your hair seems to fade quickly. Your hair was stripped of all its pigment when you lifted it to blond. Adding color takes a little bit of time.

heres what happened to you, your blonde highlights turned red, which is something you should have anticipated. Your highlights are lighter then you natural hair color so obviously they were gonna catch a different color then the rest of your head. Also the more you wash you hair the lighter it will get. It wont stay this dark forever. Re-dying it will just make it worse , just wait it out and see how it looks once it lightens up. If you really hate it then i think you should go to a hairdresser, they will be able to fix it.

It will lighten up some on its own because color covering highlights fades. If you get a perm -that will lighten it. The only other thing is to have bleach on it for just a minute to take out a little color --then color it to the color you want. If you want a medium brown use a light brown tint.--Hey I have been a hair stylist for 30 years.

Well either dye all your hair that color or dye it again and C if it works out! Or you could keep it redish highlights with a medium brown color sound ok!
Hope this helped!

This sounds crazy but what I was told to do when my hair turned out too dark was combine conditioner and baking soda, I believe 2 tbs to your hair and leave it on for 30 mins twice a day, it took out some of the dye and lightened it a little. I woulda just redyed it but they told me you have to wait 2 weeks before redying.

for sure no longer. in spite of the undeniable fact that, blonde colorings on very darkish brown/black hair often do not finally end up blonde, yet as you stated more effective strawberry blonde. First try utilising a hair bleach. Then practice the colour of your determination. be sure you keep your hair healthful by way of utilising more effective moisturizers in the course of the technique or you receives very brittle dry undesirable hair. more effective useful yet, take it to a professional to do it.

Get it professionally corrected. Adding more color your self can possibly damage your hair or get even worse as far as color goes. Take the box from the dye you used so the color stylest knows what you have on your hair. Good Luck

YOUR MISTAKE WAS THE WORD "GOLDEN" THAT IS ANOTHER WORD FOR RED IN THE HAIR COLOR DEPARTMENT AND THE BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS WILL GRAB HOLD OF THE MAIN INGREDIENT AND THATS Y THEY LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THE REST. YOU NEED TO USE AN ASH COLOR TO GET RID OF THE RED TINT PLEASE LISTEN TO ME THESE OTHERS HAVEN'T EVER BEEN TO BEAUTY SCHOOL LIKE MYSELF
