well u cant. it depends on the type of person and how they act. dont think all ppl can give away their feelings w/ lil hints. u hav to kno this person well enough to kno if they like u. i mean a guy friend of mine asked a gurlfrend of mine out, and i didnt even think they were close!! lets say the person gives u a gift: is it love, is it kindness, is it guilt, or did they lose a bet? the possibilities r endless. so im sorry but there is no specific way of knowing.

the person will stare at you a lot, look for you in crowds, try to talk to you or get your attention by doing or saying silly or cute things. omg, theres tons of ways and this is a situation i have experience in,lol. They will probably also ask a lot of questions "about you". Like, whats your favs, or what you hate. If its a person that you hardly know or talk to, you'll notuce it right away.

I personally would just ask your friend to ask them and if your not in the 6th grade im sure the person will give a truthfull answer rather then a shy lie. =]
