What is a promise ring? Well it could mean alot to different people. To me personally it means that two people have really deep feelings about each other but aren't quiet ready to say that they wanna be together FOREVER. Belive it or not FOREVER is a really long time. So a promise ring is like a start to what Forever might hold for you too.
Treat this promise ring as if it was your last ring. Promise to love that person and only that person cause who ever gave it to you or who ever your about to give it to... There's TRUE feeling to it.

I believe a promise ring is a token of love given prior to an engagement ring. I have heard of young couples having these as a way to say... "we may not be ready for marriage yet although I love you enough to want you in my life until the day comes we can take the next step."

I wear a promise ring on my wedding ring finger, some find this wrong but this is why I do:
It symbolizes my promise to my boyfriend/fiance that I will always be there for him, I will always respect him, and I will always, above all love him.

Well in my case I got a promise ring and we were going to get engaged in the future, he ended up breaking up with me so a promise ring has no guarantee your going to get married.

A promise ring means you are too young to get engaged, but think you are old enough. Sorry people, there is no such thing as "pre-engaged" or "engaged to be engaged." It's something kids in high school give each other to feel like grown-ups.
