My daughter is good at a lot of things but I feel she could do better if she focused more. How do I do that or will that come eventually.

I teach first grade, and I have kids in my class who have this problem. I try everything and some kids just need time. Good luck.

You didn't specify how old your daughter is. If she's a toddler or very young child, there's only so much focus you're going to get out of her.

If she's older (pre-teen, teen ager), try to help her find a way that the many things she likes or is good at are connected.

For example, if she likes sports, history, and music, maybe ask her to research it (kids LOVE the computer, don't forget) and see if she can find when the National Anthem was first sung at a professional sporting event. Help her see that even though she may like a lot of things, there can still be a connection there.

Or if she likes video games, but you'd like her to show an interest in classical music, have her try and find out where the video game designers get the background music for their games from. Things like this will let her have her various interests, but will help her with focusing on bringing them all together and will help her study habits for school.

She may be ready to take a challenge like do chores, help out more around the house and maybe put the dishes up after dinner. My daughter was the same way but,I had her help me and make out a chore list that had to be be completed before she goes to grandma's house on friday and I think the responsible part made her feel like she actually understood that nobody likes to do chores but someone has to do it. I told her she's (10 yrs old) now you see how mommy feels. Nobody is going to do it for us and no one wants to live in a dump. But, anyways let her help out and maybe a little allowance to save up and buy a toy she wants.Well I hope you find my answer a little helpful.

I don't know how old she is, but if she is very young, like preschool, leave her be. She will outgrow it sooner if you don't make a big deal out of it. If she is older, maybe she is bored or not feeling challenged enough. Maybe these things come too easy to her and she looses interest easily because of that. Some people just can't take the monotony.

kids can focus more when there tummy is full, and are eating healthy foods. My son loves to play chess and that helps him to focus.

Eliminate as many distractions as possible. Turn off the television, put up the toys, whatever it takes. Then again, as she gets older, her attention span will get bigger.

That depends on her age and what you want her to focus on!
