My dog threw up and there was a long white worm looking thing in his throw up. Could it be a round worm?

He is not acting sick. There are no worms in his poop and his stomach is not bloated. Could it be anything other than a round worm?

Yes, you need to take him and/or a stool sample to the vet. He could have other worms too. The vet will give you wormer, don't bother w/otc wormer...go to the vet.

Yes, round worms can be present in the stool and vomit. Normally if they are in vomit, the infestation has gotten very serious. The dog might also demonstrate and firm, bloated stomach.

You should get it dewormed asap as it will only get worse and could pose serious risk to your dogs health.

Most definitely. Take the dog to the vet and get it treated. If you can't afford a vet at the moment, you can take on cigarette, break it up and mix (tobacco only) into some wet dog food and feed it to the dogs. The worms will die. I know for a fact but it is always best to take the dog to the vet if you can afford it. Don't even waste your money on de-wormers you can buy at Wal-Mart. That is what round worms look like. Check out these links for more information. Good luck.

If your dog is vomiting worms, it's sick. I would call my vet, if you're sure there's nothing it ate that could just LOOK like a worm.

If your dog is eating and drinking normally, and this was the only time it vomited, it's probably nothing. If it's not, then it needs care.

If the vet says it could be worms, you can buy worming medicine from the pet store or even Walmart very inexpensively.

Yes it could. They can vomit roundworms, it's a long white to ivory colored smooth worm. If he's a pup and hasn't ever been dewormed, it's 99.9% likely that he has roundworms. You usually don't see them pass in stool. A pyrantel dewormer would be fine to give, this kills roundworms, but I would recommend that you have the vet run a fecal exam to make sure he doesn't have anything else.

Yes. I would call your vet tommorrow to have them perscribe a wormer for your dog. You can also go to Walmart, Target, Petco, Petsmart, or Tractor Suppy Company and get SafeGuard powder dewormer for dogs. You have to give it for three days, but it will worm for almost everything and it is pretty inexpensive.
