I don't think you'll offend the orthodontist, but you wouldn't be able to get the adhesive off of your teeth so you would feel it on your teeth the rest of your life and it would probably start to eat through your teeth after a while. All you need to do if you really want them off is go find another ortho that is willing to take them off without any further treatment. Braces suck, i know, i wore them at 25 years old for 2 years and wished i had had them when i was younger but had no money. Just endure it and it will be worth having that winning smile :)

I was a dental assistant for 10 years. I'm not concerned about offending you orthodontist.

However, the chemicals used to attach the bracket to your teeth is very strong. You might be able to get the bracket off, but only the dentist can remove the adhesive.

It would be better to make an appointment with the Dentist and ask him to remove the braces. If he will not go see another Dentist.

Who cares about offending the Orthodontist, you can really screw your teeth up. If you just have to remove them use a pair of nippers (nail technicians use these for cuticles) and clip the wire first. The thing about it is that they apply an adhesive to the bracket before placing each one on a tooth so you may catch h$%^ getting them off, not to mention you won't get the polishing to remove the stains left by the braces. Hope it works out.

Well you'll need a well lighted mirror ,,,, some needle nose pliers and a pair of wire cutters and a set of keys for the car so that when you can't get all of them off then you'll have to go to the orthadontist to finish the job ,,,, There are places you won't be able to get to and only he can ,,,, Good luck ,,,, Oh ,,,,, One other thing ,,,,, You might want to have something at hand to stop the bleeding too ,,,, Have fun ,,,,

The orthadontist doesn't care one way or another if you have trailer park teeth. He will take them off if you want them off. You will do some severe damage to your teeth if you try to pry those brackets off by yourself. I don't think you can. Go back to your doctor!! Home denistry is never a good idea.

i do not think you wanted to do that.. It mess up your teeth and that the dentist will clean up the stuff that left behind from your teeth.. I think you should go dentist who give your braces. and ask him to take off.. They you some medication or stuff so it would come off...
if you do not do that you going to mess up your teeth.. and after you take out your braces you would need to wear retainer or you would just have waste a lot of money put them on...
Why you wanted to waste the money you spend.. (i guess you have a lot of money to waste..
YOu lucky you got braces from your parents because they pay for it and if you pay for it yourself you wasting your own money...
And remember some people in this world can not have braces and you lucky you got them done.. so u can get better smile...

OK, repeat after me: I WILL NOT TRY TO TAKE MY BRACES OFF MYSELF.

You can badly damage your teeth and ruin your orthodontic treatment, which costs thousands of dollars. Unless you want to risk damaging your teeth to the point where you would need veneers to cover them, then please only let an orthodontist, who has the proper tools, take off your braces.

How do I know this? Some readers of our website had posted on our message board about this a few years ago. One person really messed up their teeth and then needed a lot of expensive cosmetic dentistry to fix them.

It become awhile circulate once I had my braces taken off (approximately 10 years), yet i had metallic brackets and that i assumed getting them taken off become plenty easier then getting them on. It does experience kinda strange on the commencing up. i didnt get presented any retainer colorings, in basic terms sparkling.

I wouldn't want to try that myself. A girl I know took hers off herself and she ruined her teeth. A couple broke and 2 of her front teeth came out with the brackets still on them. Unless you want teeth like mine, (all plastic), I'd let a pro do it.
