I think people in general shouldn't care what anybody else thinks of them.
If you live your life according to your standards and are true to yourself and your beliefs whatever they are or aren't should be all that matters.
I stopped a long time ago caring about what others think and it makes life so peaceful.

I don't think one should change to what man thinks is ok/ or not ok. One should how ever make sure that the origins of the holidays do not come from others that may have been worshiping false gods.
Exodus 32:4-10 The Israelites adopted an Egyptian religious practice but gave it a new name, and they got severely punished for this.
One that states that they are a Christian should make sure to follow Jesus example. Not mans

since christianity is founded in paganism and Egyptial mythology, gnosticim and mysticism, christians today often defend a secular and pagan tradition and don't know it
US citizens often universally celebrate by spending dollars, known as commercialism or consumerism, with $$ as god
most christians also don't see thier god to be $$ but they support thier religion with $$ offerings
