I just got a new budgie today .. long story.

Here is a photo of him (Lemon)

http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/white_creatures/more%20stuff/?action=view¤t=Picture754.jpg

The lady told me he's part Albino, I mean when I look at him with out bright lights around he apears completly white it's so awsome

So is this colour rare? I have searched around and never seen an Ino/Lutino/Creamilo budgie like this one before ... he's beautiful ^_^

Even with that shade of light yellow in his feathers he's albino still :) ?

Also whats the reason for not letting him in the sun light?

Thanks again!

Yeah his name is --LEMON--

I just saved him from the pet store, other budgies where attacking him so I asked if they could seperate them but they said no .... crazy enough I bought him and added him to my collection of pet birds lol.

Thanks for the info everyone! :]

He is very attractive. He looks like a cross between an albino and a lutino. Both are genetic mutations. Many are bred to get this outcome. Because of this, mutations are not as rare as they used to be. Pigment in the skin is called melanin and the lack of this makes the animal more susceptible to sun damage from UVA and UVB rays. The redness of the eyes is due to the blood vessels of the eyes. Melanin protects us from harmful sun rays. People with very dark skin have more melanin than light skinned individuals. I hope you and your bird have a long and wonderful relationship. What is his name?

He is albino (so you didn't get ripped off) you can tell by his red eyes. Budgies are bred often because they are so popular given this yes it is to an extent rare to find an albino budgie. be careful taking him outside (if you do) because the Lemon will be more susceptible to the sun's rays.

yes, albino skin types are very rare!! indeed , and yes if your pet got the ressisve genes versus the dominent genes then your pet comes out albino, all animals have the ability to have albino skin types, even humans carry that skin type , all it means is that your pet has no skin pigment which makes the skin pure white, and they have no eye color pigement which means there eyes are red normally. in humans ther eyes are normally blue. it all about genetics, you can find out more about it if you want on the web!!!

he has the albino gene- but still is yellow so can not be a true albino (all white w/ pink eyes/feet). Basically, he has had all of the colors bred out of him but the yellow color.
As for rareity- never seen one like him.

Your bird is gorgeous. Remeber though, those red eyes, Albinos do not see very well. Please don't alow him outside once you have had him/her awhile, he might hurt himself. Take good care of him/her, One in a million. I love it. Wish I had one too.
