Are Police cars in Santa Monica blue & white or black &White?

Question

does anyone know if Santa Monica police cars are blue and white or Black and white?
I'm concerned cause I thought I saw a Black and white
Santa Monica police car but I'm under the impression all SMPD cars are
blue and white
meaning there could be a person impersonating a police officer
in Santa Monica drivinga Black and white patrol car

the black white patrol car did say Santa Monica police on the side,, though
(I never did see the officer thoguh)as the car was parked at St Johns Hospital

well I answered my question
turns out the Black and white Patrol
cars are New patrol cars Santa Monica police are getting.. apparently the old
blue and white cars have seen better days..

If you saw someone impersonating an officer, report them. That is major offence. Wannabe cops are more trouble than good.

It could have been a new car they are trying out, though. (I know one of the towns in our jurisdiction had white cars with blue lettering and they bought two black and white cars with blue lettering - they now have two different schemes of patrol cars)

I have no idea how the cars are marked in Santa Monica, but it may not have been somebody impersonating an officer. It could have been a car from another juridiction passing through on their way to training, and officer from another agency working on a case in Santa Monica, a sheriff's car, Highway Patrol, whatever. Maybe they got a darker shade of blue on this year's batch of cars and it looks black at a glance. In my agency we are switching colors and markings, so we currently have two completely different types of cars on the road.

Somebody impersonating a police officer is not likely to be driving a marked car, but if you have any suspicion, call 911 right away and report it, so the confirmed real police can figure it out.
