All the ecosystem is cyclical in development while the human activities are all linear in development. After the second world war with the revolutionary changes in the industrial development much of the human activities started causing the eco imbalance and global warming is one among them. As all the natural process of eco system is cyclical there is always we have a choice of reversing the global warming as well as arresting further causation. All we need is sincere and heartful efforts of environmental rules, and a research on eco friendly production.
We haven't lost, neither we lose, we only altered, which is reversible.

In my opinion mankind has not lost or won the battle as there was no battle in the first place. The planet naturally undergoes temperature fluctuations from ice age to a much warmer climate. The concept is lost on humans as we live for no more than 100 years and these cycles take tens of thousands of years. It just so happens that in the present day we are heading towards the peak of this cycle. Granted, humans have sped up the effect over the last 100 years but there is nothing we can do about it. It would have happened anyway, all we can do is learn to live with it.

The earth "globally warms" and then "globally cools" without our intervention. We may have some input on the speed this time around, but we are not that powerful.. This whole thing is silly hype. Be worried about real problems, like pollution in the cities, the erosion of the ozone layer, and the murder rate in general. Oh, and nuclear war. That's much more likely to be the problem in the near future.

The earth has had many cycles in it's billions of years of existence. The earth has been super hot and super cold. Global warming is our doing, however still a natural cycle such as those of the past. The earth, just like every living being will do whatever it takes to survive and will eventually reverse the trends of global warming, even if it is after our (human) existence on the earth.

No. I think global warming is a natural occurance on the planet Earth and that politicians, especially losers, are using the coincidence of a minor degree of global warming (pun intended) to launch or relaunch their career's. There have been several ice ages. We know that. It gets cold and gets warm in divergent places. The Earth wobbles on it's axis on a cycle that is referred to as precession that takes 26,000 years to compete one cycle. Read about it. Then tell me a bunch of Hondas cause more climate change than that "precession puppy" will cause or has caused throughout the ages.

If we have already lost the struggle then I hope everybody will just shut up about global warming and let's shift our focus onto the problems that we know we can still fix in the limited time we have left.

I wonder if it is more a natural evolution of the planet and has nothing really to do with us. It doesn't change the fact that changes are coming, but it doesn't mean it is our fault or that struggling will do any good. I think the single best thing we could do to protect the planet is stop blowing up bits of it - that's what I think has been causing the crazy weather.
Peace!
PS - I don't think people are too stubborn to change their habit. The folks asking for change would require costly factory re-outfitting to make everyday stuff in a new way and it doesn't seem profitable to the manufacturers, period. People are willing to go green, drive hybrid, even pay through the nose for organic food - the choices are what is limited.

Yes the battle is lost...there is no technology to save us from it (after all it got us there). The only way to save us is for all of us to completely change our way of doing things. We need to stop economies of growth and we need to think locally not globally. However no one is willing to make the sacrifice. Plus, this is a problem that gathers speed and strength as it goes on...think of the snow ball down the hill.
To think that what we do has no impact on the environment is stupid!

Global warming is happening, it is a natural recurring solar cycle, there is NOTHING man can do but symbolically and in the process destroy the world economy. I would like to see some positive moves on the part of governments world wide to lessen the impact of the upcoming climate change instead of running around telling "The sky is falling... Follow me"

"The struggle against global warming".
Geez. This came from the same folks that thought up Y2K.
In 2006 the earth's average temperature increased by 3/100 of one percent, according to British researchers in a study released last Thursday.
