Well there is this girl i like, and i have extremely little experience with talking to girls because i'm pretty shy, but i'd love to ask her out.
the only trouble is i would have to go out of my way to talk to her, and to me that is pretty awkward. i need pure helpful answers not just "get enough courage =P"

Aw...I'm totally keeping my fingers crossed for you! :) Do you have her phone number/ e-mail address/screen name/anything like that? Starting with that kind of communication can be a good way to break the ice if you don't want to just march up to her and start talking out of the blue!
On that note, I wouldn't march up to her and ask her out right away...I'd involve her in a few conversations first. I know that it does feel awkward to go out of your way to talk to someone, but it isn't that bad if you have some things in common. Do you have a class together at school, or are you in some common activity? (I'm sorry...I'm not sure how old you are!) If so, you can just talk to her about something you have in common, like a homework assignment for class or a school sporting event.
Finally, never underestimate the power of just smiling and saying hi to someone. Whenever you see her from now on, try to say hi or, at the very least, give her a smile...I guarantee that she'll notice! :)

Go talk, shyness is very unattractive and makes people uninterested. But that stereotyped answer is helpful. Going up directly means that you want to take the initiative and time to start a relationship.

ok u like this girl right... well im a girl and i cant tell u how to ask HER out... but i CAN tell u what will get her attention...
walk up to her and say her shirt is pretty, or her hair looks nice today... or something to that effect.
or if u REALLY want her attention, send her a SINGLE rose and a card... (1 rose is romantic... a dozen is trying WAT too hard! that is a total turn off!) or if she doesnt like roses find out her favorite flower, and tie a "SECRET ADMIRER" message to it and leave it on top of her desk, or get a teacher to do it (tell the teacher to NEVER EVER tell her that u gave her the note!!!!!!!!!
also there is always the gutsy way of getting 1 of your friends to do it!!!!!!!!! a friend will always do stuff like that for u!!!!!!
just think of romantic but subtle ways to show her u like her!!!!!

well i know your looking for helpful answers but theres really no way to take away the akwardness. just be confident. thats all you can really do in this situation. if shes worth going out of the way for, then go for it. ask her if shed like to join you in seeing a movie this weekend or go get something to eat or just hang out at your house, anything. its either yes or no. good luck.

Talk to some of her(less attractive) friends, so you aint crushing on them, and ask about her likes and dislikes what she wants in a boy and then eventually talk to her, evry now and then say hi, whats up, how are you, be casual be yourself i hope it works ; )

You could try walking around her occasionally and smile to her. If she is friendly, then it means she has a good impression. If you do not dare to ask, maybe you could approach her friends first and ask for their help. i'm sure they would have a way of introducing you to her.

ok you have to get over your fear and just ask her out! Girlsdon't like when guys avoid confrontation. Just ask her out, and if she says no, then, o well! Her loss, right?
