thats when you have to go to a nursing home, and they provide assisted care for you ,the more care you need the more money you have to pay, and if you can do somethings for yourself then it will be cheaper

assisted living is a nice way of saying nursing home , especially if your mom is not doing well in rehab. The pain meds are a double edged sword. Some of the ones you mentioned are extremely strong. How was her health prior to her fall? If you can ,have a visiting nurse come to your home during the week, when you work to look after your mom.Have you ever been in a assisted living facility or a nursing home? They have other options, like a program called home instead. Your mom deserves just as you deserve a chance for a better life. Often going to a facility can be the beginning of the end. Don't be too hard on yourself and keep your wits about you. Good Luck to both of you.

An assisted living facility is a place where seniors or older people that are currently unable to live by themselves can live (generally it's until they must be moved to a nursing home or until they go out to a hospital permanently or are well enough to return to a home with their children) in a small apartment and feel relatively self-reliant, without feeling crowded or pushed around. There are nurses on call 24/7, full course meals are cooked three times a day, snacks are provided whenever they are requested, laundry can be done by nurses or residents, there are beauty shops, there are planned activities, church groups, resident events, shopping trips, all sorts of things go on in assisted living facilities. You should check a few in your area out and see which would best suit your mother's needs before ruling them completely out. They aren't all bad. Good luck.

assisted living is more for people who need to be watched but can do everything on there own, her meds are very addictive and she might just be yelling in pain to get more i would speak to her doc about weening her off. then she how she does if she is over medicated then she wouldn't do well in therapy. I've worked in nursing homes for 7 years and sad to say see it all the time

Assisted living can be permanent or temporary, It is just a place where they help care for people who cant do everything for themselves, If a person becomes able to care for their self again they can go back to where they were living before. My mom broke her hip and later went back home and lived alone for several more years
