2 Cor 12:20 For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

gossip is a form of PRIDE, because it makes one think he/she is better than others by spreading lies. Pride leads to all sins.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, and sloth (laziness).

I believe gossip would fall under the larger categories of pride and envy, both at the same time. Most who wallow in gossip are doing so because it soothes their own insecurities.

Patrone 07 has it, but the 7 sins involve one's self. That is, it only take YOU to accomplish this. Gosip , while not cool at all, requires interaction with another party

The seven sins: pride, envy, anger, avarice, sadness, gluttony, and lust.

Gossiping would be an action related to anger, pride, envy.....actually, all of these. Wouldn't you say?
