Definately not. I buy my dog treats and food based on quality and health benefits. I feed Merrick canned foods and Wellness dry food and treats. They are excellent, and it does cost more, but my dog depends on me for her nutrition, and I am not going to feed her cheap crap. Alot of the cheap, grocery store foods are loaded with aweful chemicals and sub quality edibles.

I decided that if I am going to have animals, that I would care for them properly, and a big part of that is food, and treats.... so sometimes I go without something else I may want but my dog, and my goats are healthy and well fed... they also have comfortable places to sleep, play, and they know they are safe. (which is very important since my dog was badly abused before I adopted her... See Chutney Marie Butterbean on Dogster.com)) I made a vow to care for my animals the best way possible, and its a vow I will keep.

In my opinion, cost doesn't matter anyway. I usually try a bunch of things and whatever my animals like then I'll get them those in a rotation. There is a major brand that my cats won't even touch so that was just a waste of money. Cost doesn't equate to quality all the time, but it does enough of the time that we get tricked to think that if it costs more or has a brand name then it'll be better. I would suggest trying some cheaper items and see how your dogs like them, they could be happier and your wallet could be fatter.

Buying low-quality treats and food because they are cheap usually backfires because then you get stuck paying for medicine for allergies to the treats, special shampoos for dry skin, or special diet food for extra pounds that were put on because of the treats. I think when it comes to dog food you get what you pay for. I would pay a little extra money for a good product any day.

Neither. I tried as many as I could and then I picked the ones that my dogs seemed to like the best. After all, the treat should be something special for them, not so much cheap for you or packed full of vitamins etc. It is supposed to be a TREAT like ice cream, candy, junk food. Special, not a meal.

sometimes. if i know the .50 ones are known to get the dogs sick i wouldn't buy them. if the $5.00 ones and the $1.50 ones are the same and my dog doesn't care which one, then i would choose the $1.50 ones
