Use "wee-wee pads" They are potty training pads that you teach the puppy to go on and do his business, and as time goes by and he realizes that she is to pee on the pad, move it closer to the door. Gradually move it towards the door over a certain period of time, and when the pad is right next to the door, allow her to go on it so she still knows, and begin to move it outside. But you can't just expect the pup to KNOW that she has to go to the pad to pee, place her on it every few minutes and wait until she does something, if she doesn't, let her do what she wants for a few minutes and keep trying. She needs to know what the pad is for before she is actually trained on it.

My brothers dog has the sme problem. He had hired a dog trainer which had done nothing fo the animal. The dog stopped making in the house, only because my bro walks the dog for a while until it makes 1 and 2's. I suggest thats what you do. But if it is a puppy then wait awhile, it somwtimes takes months before the puppy learnss to go outside. Try putting down newspaper or something on the floor, and point at it when you sense the dog has to make, it should work soon, but if not I am out of suggestions.

You should take the puppy outside after it's done playing, sleeping, eating, or at least every two hours. If you see her sniffing around, whining, or circling, take her out right away! The trick is to take her outside before she goes in the house, no mater how long it takes her to go, then praise her when she does good. She'll get the hang of it eventually.

Also make sure to use a product like Natures Miracle to clean the spots where she went potty in the house, otherwise the smell will keep attracting her back to those spots again. Good luck!

I place newspapers with the scent of the puppys pee. After the puppy pees on the newspapers do not throw them out as the scent is important to keep them coming back to the same spot. Every time a puppy wakes up from a nap they go pee.So take him/her outside on awakening. don't punish the puppy after an accident but immediately make a correction . When a puppy starts sniffing around you can bet its time to pee or poop.

How old is your puppy? You need to take the puppy out after each meal, as they say "in one end and out the other". Most puppies will go 15 to 20 minutes after eating. You need to form a routine and be consistent about it, and keep focused on the puppy doing its' business. When in the house keep the puppy confined in a small area, most won't dirty where they sleep. Also, know that puppies are like babies and have little to no bladder control. They can only hold it about 1 hour for each month of age.
Use patience and keep at it. Love that little puppy!

You may not want to hear this, but you need to keep this puppy with you and watch it like a hawk every minute of the day and night until she starts to learn. when you cant watch her, she needs to be in a crate. Take her outside as often as you can to the same spot and praise her when she goes. If you are watching her in the house, then you will see when she is getting ready to go and you need to catch her in the act and stop her and take her outside. Its gonna take a lot of time and patience, but the key is watching her constantly.

Wee wee pads are a great tool. If you have a safe area where you keep you puppy while you're out (I keep mine gated in the kitchen) I keep the wee wee pads in there at all times. The scent on the pads attracts him to pee on the pad rather than on the floor. Dogs prefer to pee on something absorbant, which is why they prefer carpet over bare floor.

Once your dog is used to the wee wee pad, move them closer and closer to the door until you're eventually outside. Once your dog is used to going outside, you'll eventually be able to ditch the wee wee pads.

Also, be consistent, and be proactive about taking your pup outside. I give mine a small training treat once he's done going potty outside. I've noticed that now he'll whine and stare at his leash to go outside and give me a little courtesy tinkle just to get a treat. I'd rather brave winter in MN than clean pee off my carpets!

puppys will circle in one spot or sniff a certain spot when they want the toilet so if you watch for this then pick them up and take them outside they proberbly will do their doos outside. treat your puppy and give it lots of affection when ever it gets it right. you have to be persistant with it though.
