No the Bible says nothing against this. I had wondered the same thing when I decided on cremation. Many may say that the Bible shows people were to be Buried. But, that because that was how they did it. Many Children of God have been burned at the Stake. I think if God could Create Adam from Dirt then God is quite capable of Creating us a New Body one day.

In the Bible cremation is portrayed only as an exceptional method of disposing of bodies. Most often cremation took place in the midst of unusual circumstances. For example, in 1 Samuel 31:12 we read about the men of Jabesh-Gilead who burned the corpses of Saul and his sons in order to prevent desecration of their bodies at the hands of the philistines.
We don't find cremation mentioned in the New Testament. Burial is the normal method. Moreover, the church fathers preferred "the ancient and better custom of burying in the earth."
However, there is no actual prohibition against cremation in the pages of Scripture. And if a Christian does get cremated, this poses no problem for God in resurrecting that person's body from the dead (1Cor 15:42-44).
We read in 2 Cor 5:1, "Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands." It does not matter how our "earthly tent" (body) is destroyed; all that matters is that God will raise it from the dead. Even those who are buiried eventually dissolve into dust and bones. So regardless of whether we're buried or cremated, we can all look forward to a permanent resurrection body that will never be subject to death and decay.

Some people fear that if you are cremated, you won't have a body for God to resurrect at the last day.
Remember that we're talking about God, who imagined you, and created you from a few chemicals. If God wants your body back together, it will happen, no matter what has happened to it.
So don't be worried about it. God isn't.

I'm not aware of any discussion of that topic in the Bible, but I don't think it can be a sin, since we cannot choose after death what will happen to our remains. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter because God will be able to resurrect the dead regardless of the condition of the physical body - even if it is just ashes.

When I heard about this resurrection of the body stuff I made my family promise to have my body cremated.
I don't want this thing back for any reason once I get rid of it.

No, it's not true. If you want accurate information about what the Catholic Church is and how it started, do your own research. Read the history of Christianity. Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Don't rely on somebody who hates Catholicism.
