Hey,

Whenever I haven't had a lot of sleep, say 2-3 hours, the next day my mouth feels really dry & I'm constantly thirsty.

Does anyone know why lack of sleep causes this to happen? x

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse the reason is because when you are awake the body is in full flow and uses up body fluids. The brain controls your metabolic rate and when you don't sleep it uses nutrients/fluid to try and repair the bodies cells that have been burnt out during the day. That's the basic explanation but there is more to it than that.

The less sleep you have the more nutrients your body needs to run. Dry mouth like you describe can also be a symptom of other things besides sleep.

Yes. Lack of sleep makes your body produce more adrenaline. More adrenaline makes you thirsty.

Well, usually lack of sleep makes ur body weaker so almost anything would happen... that would make u uncomfortable or sick... like sore throat... runny nose... lack of water...

i may have nothing to do with your actual sleep it could be your air condition or lack of it or it could be that that day you never drank enough or you drank to much caffeine as it is a dehydrator so try drinking more or turning down heating at nght

Not sure--but I AM sure that you need a hell of a lot more sleep than you seem to be getting!
