Every now and then I start yawning again and again, and I can't stop. I feel like I need more oxygen to stop yawning, so I breath much faster than usual. Sometimes when I'm breathing faster I feel like I'm getting enough air, and sometimes I don't.

I'm yawning like once or twice a minute. BTW I'm 18

yawning is not normally a sign of shortness of breath. It could be low oxygen saturation. The best thing would be to see your doctor especially during an episode of yawning as saturations can change rapidly.

When you are having an episode of yawing try opening a door or window. Sometimes homes don't "breath" enough and you need to infuse fresh air. This happens more often if you cook with gas or use candles, something with flames, as it burns the oxygen in the air.

Also if you have a low red blood count you will suffer the effects of low oxygen saturation as there are not enough cells to transport the oxygen.

Anyway, see your doctor to be safe.

No offense, but it could be a psychological thing. Try to make yourself not yawn and see what happens.

yawning is a way your brain gets more oxygen into your blood stream. do you smoke? if so smoking causes less oxygen to get into your bloodstream causing you to yawn
