I think it's an excellent idea. I started wearing thongs around the time I was 12-13.

I guess it depends on why she wants to wear one. It also depends on what type of kid she is. If you trust her and know she's not "fooling around" with boys and she tells you that she just doesn't want panty lines then I guess you should sit down and talk to her about stereotypes and things. Make sure she's mature enough to wear them and not show them off and think she's super cool and hot because she's wearing a thong. If she can act mature about it then give it a trial run and see how she acts for a couple weeks. If all seems to be OK, then I guess let her wear them.

Thongs don't come with an age limit like so many other stupid things in this country! If you want to wear them because they feel more comfortable, go for it. Not everyone finds them comfortable, but many women prefer them over having to constantly pick their underwear out of their bottoms.
Also, if you're wearing white pants, there isn't much else you can wear other than a skin coloured thong or g-string.

The two main reason for women wearing thong underwear tend to be...a) to avoid panty lines while wearing tight clothing...or B) straight up sex appeal...they want it to be seen by someone. Neither of these should have anything to do with a 13 year old. So I would say no. It is inappropriate.

Depends on the reason for wearing them. I started wearing them at 12. I think they are more comfy then most underwear. Thongs are not just about sex. They are just underwear and I don't know why people get so paranoid of them. Now if the child is walking around with it pulled out of her pants then there is a problem other then that, I think they are great.

NO!!! My best friend throws her 14 yr old daughters thongs in the trash every time they show up in the wash!! She has thrown away about..hmmm.. I'd say 20-5 pairs of panties in the last yr. The only reason you wear them is for someone to see them. And nobody should be seeing them at 13!!!

No, no, no. Thongs are way to mature for a 13 year old. Besides thongs started out as lingerie, basically something you put on when you want to feel sexy ie: getting in the mood for sex. Therefore, no 13 year old should be wearing them since they shouldn't be getting in the mood for anything.

I think....Thongs are for Adults ONLY! Not for Children. It's not about comfort either, when it comes to children wanting to wear thongs. It's about having less questions to answer!

Why would she need thongs?
Talk to your child and show her how to respect her self and other important things in life. Instead of of talking about whether she should use thongs.

I would say not. That is kind of young. When most people think of a female wearing a thong, they think of the sex appeal not the comfort.
