Duke is right about the two major types - applehead or old fashioned Siamese and the newer slim, lightly- boned Siamese with narrow faces. Then you get into color points on the ears and tail - flame points, seal points, chocolate points etc.

So my darling Spookie was an apple-head Seal point Siamese.

It depends on how you define 'type.' There are about a half-dozen color variants; and some people distinguish 'apple head' (round headed traditional) from pointy-headed lines, but they're all Siamese.
