in the first place, what made that teenager depressed? she can solve her own problem if she will trace down what causes her depression. Then after finding the cause, she must think of ways on how to conquer it or to make way out of it. and finally, make it happen.

girl, if you are this teenager that you are talking about, maybe you need to evaluate and re-evaluate your life. try to think of the things that will make you happy no matter what anyone else has to say. It's your happiness that matters the most. happiness is also the most effective remedy for depression.

I suggest you go out to the world and find ways to make yourself smile or much better, laugh...

good luck...

You didn't mentioned what makes you depressed, because in my case it depends. When I'm depressed, i often go in some places where I'm all alone. Try to relaxed my senses, think of the things that makes me depressed and the caused an effect. By the time i already found my self or my determination and courage im going to face the reality and the problem that causes my depression.
But in your case, if i were you. Most parents don't really understand their children especially their feelings. Why not explain to them the things that bothered you too much? If they think i need a psychology/doctor then they think i have a mental problem. It depends how did you told them your problem, did they really understand it? The doctor your parents has consulted can't just detect the real feeling you feels. Maybe that doctor don't understand you as well. Being rough or out of self control is not the solution of your problem, but it getting worst. Hitting some body's face may add to your depression or taking anything that may let you forget your self for a while. Be strong and face your problem, fight for your depression by making your self busy. Do something interesting that will make you enjoy and unwind. Depression can make you crazy...

It's called "puberty." Oh sweetie you are going to go through so many changes in your life. You sound so much like my own daughter when she was a teenager. I tried everything, doctors, counseling, shrinks, meds. I think most of that made it worse. You know what happened? She grew up.She had to go from point "A" to get to point "Z" and all I could do was let her. And when she swayed I was always there for her to lean on. One thing I did suggest to her back than was to keep a journal of what she was feeling, what made her feel that way and what made her feel better. That was the one piece of advice she did take from me. Now together we read it and look back and say, "remember when?" Try that, it may help and do keep in mind you won't always be young and confussed, this too shall pass.

Go to a different doctor or counselor, there are people out there that can help, and if the doctor you have seen is not help you - find another one who can.

Talk to your parents and tell them that you really want to feel better, and get things worked out, and you would really like their support.

If the parents won't listen, talk to another trusted adult such as a school counselor or minister, etc.
